Celebrating Excellence with Direct Contact School

It was an honour to partner with Direct Contact School, Mandara, for its Prize Giving Day, an event that celebrated academic excellence, talent and the achievements of learners while inspiring the next generation of leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals.
The occasion also provided an opportunity to promote the importance of introducing entrepreneurship and business thinking at an early age. As part of the partnership, students received copies of The Chartered Vendor, a book designed to introduce young people to entrepreneurship, sales, value creation and the fundamentals of building a business.

The initiative recognises that education goes beyond academic results. Equipping learners with an understanding of business, creativity, problem solving and value creation can help them appreciate the opportunities that exist beyond the traditional employment path.

Special appreciation goes to Dr Koke and Mr Christopher Mugaga, CEO of the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC), who graced the occasion as Guest of Honour.
The Prize Giving Day was a celebration of achievement, but it also raised an important question for educators, parents and the business community:

How important is it to introduce entrepreneurship and business thinking to students while they are still at school?
Partnerships between schools, authors, entrepreneurs and business organisations can play an important role in exposing young people to practical ideas that complement their formal education.

LIVEZW celebrates Direct Contact School for recognising excellence and investing in the future of its learners.
