Takesure Zamar to Minister at AFM of Zimbabwe National General Spiritual Conference

The Apostolic Faith Mission of Zimbabwe is set to welcome renowned Zimbabwean gospel worship minister Takesure “Zamar” Ncube at the 2026 National General Spiritual Conference, scheduled for 27 to 30 August 2026 at Mufaro National Conference Centre in Mushagashe, Masvingo.

Popularly known as Minister Zamar, Takesure Zamar Ncube has established himself as one of Zimbabwe’s influential gospel musicians and worship leaders, with a ministry that has reached audiences across Zimbabwe, South Africa and beyond. His distinctive approach to worship, songwriting and gospel music has made him a respected voice within the African Christian music landscape.

Born and raised in Zimbabwe, Zamar developed a passion for music from an early age. He later pursued formal studies in Music and Musicology at the Zimbabwe College of Music in Bulawayo, further developing his musical abilities. He went on to teach music and eventually founded Worship Addicts, a gospel group that became an important part of his musical journey.

His national and regional profile grew significantly after he joined the celebrated South African gospel ensemble Joyous Celebration as a vocalist in 2014. During this period, his worship ministry reached a much wider audience, with songs such as “Kuregerera in Advance” becoming particularly popular among gospel music audiences.

Zamar has also built a reputation as a songwriter and instrumentalist. His ministry combines contemporary worship with African musical influences, and he has demonstrated the ability to minister across different linguistic and cultural settings. Sources have noted his use of languages including Shona, Ndebele, Zulu, Venda, Sotho, Swahili and Tswana.

His ministry has received significant recognition, including the Best of Africa Award at the SABC Crown Gospel Awards in 2018. Over the years, he has also shared platforms with leading gospel ministers and artists from Zimbabwe and across the region.

More than a gospel music performer, Zamar has consistently presented his music as an expression of Christian faith and worship. In an interview with The Herald, he described music as a calling and emphasised the importance of remaining grounded in God throughout his journey.

His ministry continues to attract large audiences. In May 2026, Zamar was among the headline worship ministers at the Free & Found concert in Harare, where his worship session was described as a powerful moment of collective devotion.

At the AFM of Zimbabwe National General Spiritual Conference, Zamar will join a wider programme of preaching, teaching, worship and spiritual ministry. His participation is expected to add a strong worship dimension to the gathering as thousands of believers come together for fellowship and spiritual renewal.

The 2026 conference is being held under the theme “The Power of the Holy Spirit”, based on Acts 1:8, which declares: “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you.”

The theme speaks directly to the mission of the church and the believer’s dependence on the Holy Spirit for spiritual empowerment, effective witness and service. Through worship and ministry, Zamar is expected to help create an atmosphere in which delegates can draw closer to God and respond to the work of the Holy Spirit.

For AFM of Zimbabwe, the National General Spiritual Conference remains an important moment on the church calendar, bringing together believers, pastors, leaders, families and young people from different parts of the country.

With Takesure Zamar among the ministers on the programme, the Mufaro National Conference Centre is expected to become a significant gathering place for worshippers seeking spiritual renewal and an encounter with God.
